I would suggest that it maybe Siggy that sits next week for his cheap shot. Wait for the judicial.

Ricki's after match comment about sums it up.
'That's the worst 25mins we have played this season'
I reckon we showed a bit of character in the 2nd half.
To be fair we could have been 5 or so down at half time.
The midfield was non existent in the first half.Even when we had an extra player, Tim was still invisible.
Next game Greeny and Tim should be on the bench, but I also know that won't happen.
Lets hope we don't take the Jets too lightly.

Didn't get to watch so who wants to try fill me in?
I've read the thread but its a bit contradictory at times...
I have gathered and want to know:
Siggy did well? back four were rubbish for at least the 1st half hour
Smith was good, Bench players were good. (-pav)
was griffiths ok? How was Ward?
What kind of formation were we playing? I take it that Lia failed miserably at shutting down Hernandez?
Ignoring the scoreline and the 1st half hour did we play alright and should we be worried about Newcastle? Didn't sound like we were dominated, were we?
Whats this about siggy hitting someone?
So much for that sweet defensive record and how did that happen?

Too many questions for me to answer but the back four did not have a good day - general lax marking and poor passes, caught out time and time again by a lack of defensive midfield cover.

Yet at the other end we looked increasingly threatening as the game went on, but just couldn't find an early enough goal that might have rattled them. It was a really odd game, very un-Phoenix like. Yet strangely entertaining.

A tough 9 days for the boys and I think last nights performance needs to very quickly put to bed and forgotten about.

At the end of the day, if before the Perth Game if asked if I would be happy with six points against Perth Brisbane (sort of away) and Melbourne (away) I would have said yes please with Christmas bells and tinsel on.

The "What a waste of money" chant just got louder for Kewell. Missed two absolute sitters for a striker with any experience let alone his, plus Siggy got the better of him several times when he (Kewell) was away.

Game got away on us for sure, but don't forget one goal was completely jammy, while the third landed at Ferreira's feet after another horrible deflection. Great finish though

Worst shot of the year - Hernandez when one on one????
Lucky Kewell played cos it could have been a whole heap worse.

Oh man just watched the highlights reel, Siggy is no where in the first goal, Archie Thompson left fully unmarked in the box! 2nd goal is just bullox, and really couldn't do anything about the 3rd.
1st goal though, totally not happy.

Durante chased Thompson as he played the ball out to Kewell and then just left him. Ball was then crossed in and he had a free header.

Griffiths is terrible as a full back - almost as bad as Musa was. He is so bad that everytime it goes down his wing Dura or Siggy get pulled over there to cover his ass as he inevitably dives in and misses with his 2 footed lunge.

Slightly off topic, but Adrian Leijer is quoted in this article as saying that the world's best cross-town rivalries are from cities like Liverpool, Manchester, Spain and Italy.

Exactly, Siggy got left with Durante's only blunder - made Siggy look bad.
