But surely the fact that paston had the ball in his arms when he went down eliminates the 'denying a goal scoring opportunity' view. I can understand gillet giving it (begrudgingly) but its unbelievable that based on such evidence the MRP could rule that any referee could reasonably call that a red card. There was simply no goal scoring opportunity. 

Add to that the subjective view that it was barely a foul,and it's even worse in some eyes.
