Dear me. After having been away for a few weeks travelling it was my first game back at the RoF.
At half time I was quietly optimistic.
By 75 minutes I was close to suicidal. What a truly AWFUL second half.
The three highlights for me were:
1. Vinnie LIa doing at least as many good things as bad things. We scored him +1 point when he won a tackle, got an opposition player booked or won a foul, or made a pass stick (to a Phoenix player), and -1 point when he gave the ball away or committed a foul. When he was subbed off he was at +1. And his shot to sting the palms of the Wanderers keeper was one of the high points of the game.
2. Waffles hitting the bar, and looking dangerous on a number of occaisions running at and through the defence.
3. Fenton on the ball. Still looks great. I do wish he'd push on into the box and force the issue and see if a defender or two doesn't scythe him down for a penalty... he keeps backing away like the 18 yard box is an electric fence...
Oh, and most of the time Siggy and Dura tidying up at tyhe back were good too... well, some of the time...
