Paston was never going to get it so that statement is just incorrect. He should however demanded that Sigmund hoof it. I still blame Sigmund for not doing what he does best - hoof it.
When I yell at my backline to hoof it, they get shitty at me for "stating the obvious". I would have done exactly what Pasty did - if you're not sure whether you can get to it and your centreback is motoring towards it, stay out of his way, and assume he won't totally screw it up.
That's all well and good provided your CB is actually moving towards the ball, not just holding onto it and looking aimlessly in your dierection.
