Blimey when I saw 3 mins extra time I almost died. Good result, (missed the first half though I'm at work), need to work on the defending the lead thingy and keep possession better. But over the moon basically. Does any other club in this league have such a bond with its support? That was great watching Ricki and the team go over to our fever boys.

Not according to our captain - in a pre-match interview he said:

"The supporters here have been brilliant. To be honest with you I've never lost a game and been given a standing ovation off the field before. We've got some special supporters here."

GO YELLOW FEVER!  GO THE NIX!

great post nickel, i reckon a club gets the supporters it deserves and this club deserve us!
(perhaps not with our shirts off)

and we deserve them and now the beer is taking hold on top of the adrenaline and what ever the hormone is that only gets released when your football team wins!!

words fail me

From what I saw, They need the whole package, Breast Reductions, Tummy Tuck. You name it, they need it.

The downside of drinking Alcohol right there.

I think everyone who gave Ferrante sh*te needs to put their hand up and say they over reacted. He played great today. Put the ball through that lead to the penalty and had numerous other great passes over the top.

We wasted a lot of free kicks and gave away a bit of easy posession which was a bit worrying but apart from that i'm over the f**king moon.

Agree - he was top drawer tonight

Ahh, but surely every man who sports a yellow Retro Ricki T, proudly supporting the 'Nix in the face of stern opposition, and vastly outnumbered...  is a handsome specimen of God's finest, by default..??

Improving,,on the up, a work in progress from Italiano and the Nix. Bring on the bathroom bling in '24! COYN!

replay 11am Saturday morning - re-live the match and hear the commentary ....

... and wasn't Felipe awesome; it was almost like he was totally pee'd off with that weak Sydney goal and decided to single-handedly get the score back to all square - brilliant play.

Although I don't think Ricki appreciated the man hugs from Felipe straight after scoring (but what better way to celebrate with your boss?)

Here's to Robbie Slater being unavailable/unwanted in the commentary box. A vast improvement over the CCM game commentary. Vast improvements all around really.

30 people at my flat and i have never seen as many people so exicted when that 1st goal went in. Once the second goal went in i thought we were going to get noise control, awesome game and lets hope we can keep the momentum up next weekend. Full credit to the guy in the phoenix shirt by the cue room at 1 am cranking the wellington is wonderfull chant.

away fans.

From NZ.

In Sydney.

Most impressed.

Congratulations on the whole Phoenix thing there. It looks like you're turning around the whole perception of football in NZ from over here. Hopefully it's not an intitial start up thing and you sustain it.

HN, if you run into subbed, tell I'm going to bash him if he doesn't give us back out striker.

Phoenix did great. Dodd was brilliant, and I can't think of anyone who would get less than a 6 out of 10.

The commentator (the one with the haenous Australian accent) thought he was the man. He thought the defender who lost the ball to Adam Casey was Steven O'Dor, so, in a vain attemp to be cool, he called him Steven O'Snore. It was indeed satisfying when the clown discovered that it was infact Lochead who gave away possesion.

Ditto. Great for the game in Wellington.

Having just watched the replay so I could hear the commentary (no hope in the lounge) I have to say that apart from an occasional error Hill and Harper were pretty good.  Made the right calls and best of all called us Wellington every time I noticed.

Just need them to pick up 'ring of fire' instead of 'the Cake Tin' and we'll have them sussed.

In their honour this week I'm going to call Adelaide, Adelaide United, instead of Australia United.

Ahh what a result!! Superb performance from the lads away from home none better i feel to get our first ever win over than those whinging bastards from Sydney!!

Ferrante actually played well i can't believe it!! Maybe it's a sign of things to come from him i hope so. Felipe's goal was pure Brazilian magic and it looks like Daniel has learnt how to take his pens in recent weeks!! Defence was ok had some dodgy moments like when Dodd farked his clearance and Brosque only hit the post from 10 yards out. Moss was great again key saves at key moments to see us get all 3 points.

Well done to the YF lads that went over and any other ex-pats who went along to support the mighty Nix. You deserved the applause from the players and coaches at the end there for sure!!! Just wish they put mics right beside you so we could hear you outsing those cove bastards!!!

PHOENIX TILL I DIE!!

Three for me, and two for them.

That tables wrong.  Newcastle couldn't have 3 as they had one point from a draw with the Shambles.  Must be 1.

nightz.  Off Topic, but rumours in Melbourne say Vlahos to Glory.  So that's a side who have scored no goals in three matches signing a striker who was less prolific than Urlo.
