R19 vs Melbourne Victory | Fri 15 Feb | 7.35pm | Eden Park | Morningside Tavern
any one got ideas of the best place to park near Eden park?
You’re better off getting the train if you can, however it’s in a residential area so there should be plenty if you don’t mind a little walk. There’s often traffic management in place around the stadium tho so make sure you check that first.
Yeah man, you're getting ticketed around Eden Park on matchdays.
Team on Radio Sport yesterday afternoon:
I’m watching them train at the moment. Looks like it’s Durante not training? Seems to be sitting out of the drills.

At QBE Stadium training grounds. Just happen to have an internship around there!
Me and my family are coming down from up North and appear to have missed out on fever zone tickets. Could we get general admission and still get into the zone. We want to experience and fever atmosphere. Thank you.
Not sure if security will be checking at the entrance to the zone. Can't help but try if there is room
For Victory, Antonis is suspended?
Will Honda start? He got 30 mins off the bench verus Perth.
Last MVC game Cacace/Doyle struggled to contain Kosta, so I'm sure Rudan has a plan for that
Honda will start. Antonis suspended. The biggest question mark is Toivonen - if he plays, I can't see us winning; he adds so, so much quality up front for the Vuc. Without him, they are average. With him, they're the best in the league imo.
How do you guys tend to get into Auckland from Welly?
They've opened the top tier of the South Stand, which probably indicates they are confident the bottom tier will sell out and they need some overflow for the walk up crowd.
Domey has really upped this Twitter game recently.
All the comms complaints appear to have been taken on board.
The social media over the last year to year and a half has been streets ahead of what it used to be, and actually better than basically every other A-League club.

Fever zone season ticket holder, have been since 2007.
Ordered a ticket for the Auckland game 2 months ago.
Received by email almost immediately.
Shouldn't have allowed myself to be lulled into a false sense of security about Ticketmaster.
I just went to print my ticket out and they've given me a ticket that's not in the fever zone.
Why would you give a fever zone season ticket holder a ticket that isn't in the fever zone?
Ridiculous.
Currently on hold with them - been 20 minutes so far.
Can't believe I'm saying this, but I almost wish this was Ticketek.
Finally got through to Ticketmaster.
Long story short, they've got no idea what they're doing.
The lovely person I spoke to explained that they must have been sold out of Fever Zone tickets when I ordered one (which seems unlikely given I ordered it on the first day you were able to do so).
They explained that I'd been put in the closest available seating to the zone - I pointed out that, no, they've put me at the complete opposite end of the ground.
They now no longer have any seats anywhere nearby the zone either.
I guess we'll have to see what happens at the ground!
Heard through the grapevine ticket sales are now up to 15.6k, weather supposed to be good on Friday too!!

Parking details here according to the Eden Park Website. All of the side streets around that you're looking at 15mins walk to the ground max.
16k already sold and a couple days to go... 20k certainly looking very possible.
some of those streets may be residents only parking too

Perhaps get to the ground, very early and stand outside the Gate to Fever Zone area, if you can.
Then target likely naive members of the "Sit Down Brigade", who are totally oblivious of what they are about to venture into - and suggest it's probably a good idea they swap tickets, otherwise they may not enjoy the game.
The nice security people may even let you put up a little sign, advising of the standing in the Fever Zone, and your available ticket exchange program. I'm sure you won't be Robinson Crusoe. I mean it's obviously in the interests of the security folk, that Sit Down Brigade members don't end up in the Fever Zone. Too obvious maybe.
Stickers arrived via rocket pigeon this morning. Smaller than the originals, but just as solid.
Should be available at the Morningside Tavern and in the Zone.

I might have a single ticket available for the Yellow Fever section tomorrow.
If it becomes available, I'll sell it at face value ($25 incl fee).
I should know more by tomorrow.

Please be respectful of people who have tickets in the zone and want to rightfully access their seats. The north stand being effectively sold out means they dont have any where else to go.
I'm picking there is going to be riot on Friday as people attempt to get in the fever zone

So just for etiquette sake.. In Welly its pretty much a free for all standing section as there's plenty of room even if you don't go to your allocated space.
Now this is the first time I'll be in a full zone so if some people are in our allocated positions do we just tell them to jog on or does my group jog on and if so where?

It’s quite rare, but I think the etiquette in Wellington is still that if someone does want to sit in their allocated seat that you do move elsewhere. At least that’s what I do on the odd occasion someone has told me I’m in their seat. It’s happened a few times this season actually because of the cash giveaway people have wanted to be in their own seat if they’ve thought they have a chance of winning it.
I’d say that still applies in Auckland. If someone wants their allocated seat, just squeeze up somewhere else (or stand in your allocated seat).

I'm pretty sure nearly all of the people in the YF zone are respectful, but if I wanted to be in the zone but could only get tix to another part of the ground, I'd be tempted to see if I couldn't do a trade outside the Gate with someone who may not enjoy being in the zone.
For example a father with two young kids of 5 ft, may well be happy to do a trade, providing seats are otherwise of a comparable price/area.

This popped into my head..
Any YF merch making the trip up? ?

Etiquette is definately allowing people to have access to their seat.
This will be shown ever 5 minutes prior to kick off with a verbal instruction that is something like ""Please note the Yellow Fever Zone is a standing area. There will be fans standing, singing and chanting and probably not in their allocated seats. If this is too much for you please chat to security and they can direct you to a quieter seated area without people blocking your view"
So essentially go to your seat in first instance, some people should take up the offer and security should direct them to a different part of the stadium. That should free up some space for a more concerntrated grouping.
Why not have a series of posters put up in and around the entrance to the zone? Never been to EP so not sure how it works, but i'd guess that way it'll be clear for all. Gutted i'm not heading along.
perhaps a smart idea to leave Morningside fairly early to get in there and set the norm early

I read somewhere - I think in this thread tbh - that that’ll be happening.
So the club has put out some information in their All you need know about Eden Park game day. It will be in the programme, there will be posters around the zone. Security will be briefed about what goes on in the Zone and advised to move anyone that has an issue with us standing.
The big screen will display the poster every 5 minutes from 30 mins before kick-off and some of us are thinking of getting there earlier than normal so we are in the zone and standing before the general public would turn up.
It probably won't be perfect but the club has been working really well with us to make the active zone run smoothly on the day.
