But none of the guys recruited from the NZFC so far have stood
up. It's a punt, a real punt, on any of those guys.
Sure one or two might be able to make it but we'd probably have to
try 6 to get those one or two and then where does that leave
us? The gap is HUGE!
Normo's coming home
I have watched most NZFC games played at Kiwitea St or
Waitakere this year, as well as most Knights home games.
There's a big gap between NZFC and A-league. A number of
players have tried to make the step up over the last two
years, without setting the world on fire, e.g., Che Bunce, Jeremy
Brockie, Michael White.
Current NZFC players who might be able to cope with A-league:
Totori, Ian Robinson, Ben Sigmund, Jonathon Perry (?). Not
Danny Hay. I would have said Keryn Jordan was worth a try a
year ago, but he's been a shadow of his former self this
year. Grant Young would be work hard, but probably be shown
up. Not sure re Barron.
football tragic for too long
We should only get NZer's from the NZFC. We don't want to use up
our 4 imports on NZFC players. Herbert should get quality African
and South Americans as our imports. Andy Barron would be good to
sign. If possible we should get some Africans playing in the French
league because then we'd know that they have had good training.
