i talked to a very reliable member of the stadium staff today who made a few points.
i) the cost of the temp seating tickets don't cover the cost to install them. the FFA are making the money so they won't be interested because of this. the only reason the phoenix would want extra seating is for the extra support and the FFA have no interest in that either.
ii) there is limited temp seating in the city at the moment due to the arts festival and (possibly) other events around the country.
iii) it takes longer than a week to get the seating into place and to plan a ticketing system for them - there was a bigger time frame for the all whites game.

this is more than likely going to be your standard westpac stadium sell out and i think all people concerned would be more than happy with 34,500.

So only 34,500 can be the max then, shame.  Oh well at least we have something higher to aim for next year when we have a home grand final!

Last time tix were 39 for the all whites, and the cost was covered. So if they were all made as Gold seats, and only adults seats avaialbe for 50, it could work on the cost?

Although there is some sentimental value in leaving the current attendance record standing. In some ways it just "feels right".

I did ask the question on Tuesday or Wednesday IIRC about how long temporary seating would actually take to erect.
 
Still I don't mind attending the two best events to ever happen (so far, and hopefully) at the Ring of Fire.

i think you'll find the cost was covered by NZF for the sake of having a bigger crowd. i'm not sure if they lost on it but they certainly did not do it to make money. you have to look at this one from the FFA's point of view, not the WPFC's point of view.

and no you cannot just charge more for a seat with a sh*te view. doesn't work like that.

can't remember the exact number but i'm pretty sure members + phoenix season passes = 12k roughly

Stadium website states 34500 total with 31000 for public (ie excluding members/corporate boxes) but this would be stadium members and not season tickets holders

Buying isn't even required...

How many people do we have currently online?

Each login and "claim" 8 tickets. They are held for several minutes.

Can work out how many tickets are left easily enough

Every zone is either sold out or single tickets only so makes it a bit tricky
 
Also makes it likely to be only 20 odd tickets left!!

God if you don't have a ticket now then hurry the f*** up before Trademe scalpers get in 

I have just put 2 tickets in my basket ("secured") then went back to try to get 2 more - denied. So every other pair of seats is either sold or in someone else's shopping basket.

WELL DONE BOYS!!! WE DID IT!
