just a reminder that at this stage the entry is limited to Fever Card holders. Not fever card holder + guests.  This is the incentive to actually aply for the card and to become a registered member of these forums.

Good clarification, might need to get the missus one to. Oh actually hold on, if she hasn't got one I can drink with the lads!

Picked my Fever Card up this morning, classic to see the Yellow Fever Kit has been moved to the front of the store and the All Blacks kit has been moved to the back. Love your work lads!

It's going to be a even more awesome night if we have the Pre Season Cup to celebrate.

It's a decent looking beast as well.  Here's Adelaide with it last year ...

And nice to know it actually exists.  I want it!

I know, I know, its serious!

Hey, first post for me. Not my first time on the forums, I've been a reader since way back last year. Just wanted to say top choice for season launch shindig - August 9th is my twentieth so it'll be a pretty fantastic way to spend the birthday!

Beer & Football! Brilliant!

Dunno if I'm gonna make it tomorrow night, am sure the Santa Fe girls will be disappointed (and/especially Fitz) as my bank balance is incredibly sad.

HOWEVER, Coxey I spent this morning making you a birthday present, so I might have to come in and give it to you before you get too smashed (I'll try be there before six :P) but have a WONDERFUL night everyone! Have a safe night - I don't want to deliver any babies 9 months after tonight!

I can't imagine a female would have to purchase many of her own drinks at a loose football party...

Also, is the girl who answers the phone on the Phoenix Member's hotline gonna be there...?

just for the record - shindig is possibly the worst name ever

Seems perfectly apt to me!

shindig noun, colloq 1 a lively party or celebration. 2 a noisy disturbance or row; a commotion.
ETYMOLOGY: 19c: see shindy.

Following the link - Shindy

shindy noun (shindies) a row or rumpus; a commotion. kick up a shindy to make or cause a disturbance.
ETYMOLOGY: 19c: perhaps from shinty.

and shinty
shinty noun (shinties) 1 a game, originally Scottish, similar to hockey, played by two teams of 12. 2 a (also shinty-stick) the stick used for this game; b the ball used.
ETYMOLOGY: 18c.

So drunk Highlanders whacking each other with sticks seems a perfectly good allegory for the YFPSLP!

Remember, you MUST have your FEVERCARD to get in.

If you don't yet have it (and you ordered it before Monday AM) call in at RYOS tomorrow and grab it.

How did it go? Sorry we had tickets to the Breeders at the San Fran Bathhouse and had bought them ages ago. Music like that makes me think I'm 18 again so could not miss it. Hope it went well though. Did any of the lads turn up? ForteanTimes2008-08-10 01:24:25

I'm very, very drunk (well, not really).

Disappointing turnout. I'm only home as junior news has blown chunks out his nose...

Didn't realise the Breeders were still sporting both Deal's otherwise I'd have considered it.

They were both in fine fine form. Something about the start of "Cannonball" that gets me every time. Sorry it was a sh*t turn out. will make more of an effort next time.

p.s. Kelly Deal actually looked really fit

Sorry mate I'm on medication at the mo so no drinking for me. I woiuld have liked to have come and chewed the fat over the Gooners this season with you. Poor HN might need a stiff whiskey after their result.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!
