Greenacre was made head coach of the academy just a few weeks ago.

The fact that he's not over with the team in Australia might be down to quite a few things, including his role in the academy, but he potentially didn't want to spend another season away from his family.

I was just looking through the press release when he was given the role and they said that the academy has grown from 2-3 staff a few years ago to 20, so appointing people like Rory into coaching roles in the academy aren't sidelining Greenacre but is a response to the fact that Greenacre is spread too thin as he's still an assistant in the first team, and also the fact that the academy is growing.

We don't know what's going on behind the scenes, Greenacre may not have wanted to spend another season away from his family in Australia. I'm pretty sure the team said that Greenacre is still a first team assistant but just doing it remotely, he was also made head coach of the academy just a few weeks ago.

The club strengthening their academy by having Rory a dedicated under 19 coach is a good thing and probably is a result of Greenacre having duties with the first team as well as the academy and being spread too thin.
