We play 13 games at home this season. If we play the same unmber of home games next season then I would be happy if 7 games were in Wellington, 2 in Auckland, 1 in Hamilton, 1 in Christchurch, 1 in Dunedin and then 1 at like Bay Park stadium in Tauranga etc. Like you said, 1 off games will attrach the highest croud numbers so why not bite the bullet and take the show on the road so to speak, wet the whole country's appetite for the Phoenix.. I know alot of people aren't gonna like this suggestion, but I really think it could work.

You know we've played in a number of those venues with embarassingly small crouds, right?

But that was when we were Wellington Phoenix. Watch the crouds flock in once we're called New Zealand Phoenix.

It's simple metrics innit? No other factors matter.

It was also generally when we were under Herbert's control. No offense to the man but his style of football would turn off a horny nympho standing naked in the public baths in Rome.

There was a reason for calling Westpac a fortress because we put 10 men behind the ball and left Ifill up front by himself. I must admit it was hard parting with my cash to watch the Phoenix play under his management. Trust me, Aucklanders and other New Zealanders will come along if there was end to end enterprising football like we attempt to play now.

My how our playing history has been rewritten dont seem to remember to many games where Ifill was left up front by himself and if he was it was normally late in the 2nd half..Dont get Herberts bad rap he was there when we had some of our best results and largest crouds. There wernt many moaning when we had that "Fortress" thing going on.Yep things turned to custard but thats another story. Dont think the evidence is there that people will turn up if we play "end to end enterprising football".
