Unlikely to see the A League as stand alone in the near future as that is likely to depend on a strong league with a group of very strong owners. If the A League was stand alone, you wouldn't likely have the likes of the Jets etc still being there because the A League wouldn't have the financial backing to prop them up like FFA does. As much as I dislike it, FFA are in a pretty strong position to do what they like, A League owners can bitch and moan all they like but can't really do much else when push comes to shove.
