Red card: Our banned football fans

THIS is the shame file Australian football bosses didn’t want you to see. Top secret documents reveal the banned fans from 10 A-League clubs — with more than a third from the Western Sydney Wanderers.

Now there's a surprise, the FFA's prized possession club taking up the honours.

Sorry Andy, but I have to call you out on this comment. I met some people who are close to some of those banned fans in the weekend. One was at a party, not on a match day, and he let off a flare. The police were called. The police, rightly, arrested him. They passed his name on to the FFA and the FFA banned him from attending aleague matches. That's not right. It's also not right that confidential information is leaked. This is also not right: Alan Jones: "Is this like terrorsim in Paris? The leaders have no guts." Rebecca Wilson: "That's exactly right. That's exactly right, Alan." I am NOT saying no one on that banned list is guilty. However it is well known that SOME of the people, including SOME of the WSW fans on that list, were not even at aleague games when the incidents the FFA has banned them for occurred. The only Brisbane Roar fan on the list who has been banned was banned for lighting a flare under a pull over banner. Only everyone who was there say the person they arrested and banned was not the person with the flare,. Mistaken idenity. And there is no right of appeal. Don't just lap up this misinformation being spread without doing some critical thinking.
