A 'dawn ceremony' seems a bit out of place
The promise of something 'historic' but vague as to what that is.
Has the previous money making ventures been profitable?

Agree that it's tacky. Dawn Ceremony just makes you think of ANZAC day and unless this is some sort of charity tie-in with the RSA or something it seems an inappropriate use of the phrase.

one of the local Iwi involved.  Dawn ceremonies not uncommon realyy

Come on, really? The Phoenix (i.e. the mythological bird and the club's namesake) is reborn with the rising of the sun.

wtf are you going on about ?

The Chamber of commerce is involved.  The are charging a good slab of dough to be there. This will not be a new pair of boots for Nixie. It will be something fairly important.

I give them as much stick as anyone at times but lets at least wait till we have an idea what this is about before condemning them

I was on about the symbolism of the dawn ceremony. I agree with Conan that dawn ceremoney to me always makes me think of ANZAC, but I think I can see what they were aiming for.
