The $6 million price tag comes from the South Melbourne guy, Papastergiadis, who said they were offered 25 per cent for $1.5 million - so 100 per cent then figures to be $6 million. Obviously that was 11 months ago, so whether it's relevant today is another matter.

Agreed, but it's presented as a price the Phoenix are willing to accept for a 100% sale, rather than a valuation to base a part sale on.  The article uses it to imply that the Phoenix is actually for sale despite Morrison saying it's not, and the only issue is haggling over price.
