Let's say nz football invited a team from Vanuatu into our local premiership football league.
Gave them some coin each year as part of the deal
Then they were key players in trying to stop NZ football being involved in their own league
Then with a couple of years going on their license they tried to make some coin and flick it to the Levin Tigers for 15 million quid
You would be kind of pissed wouldn't you?
well to be accurate, nzf would not want the Vanuatu team and say they are squatting on the licence and create conditions for its eventual death where they can take back the licence and on sell it for millions while the Vanuatu owners are millions out of pocket. Nzf would not be pissed at all, rather thankful that they were able to have a league of 8, then 10, then 12 teams with the owners of the Vanuatu team propping up their club so that nzf can profit on the tv deal to spend on their salaries, consultants and the nz game.
