How about this for a possible scenario. Phoenix sell 50% stake to an Aussie outfit who put money into the Phoenix who remain in Wellington to play as the Phoenix. If FFA metrics don't work out in the required time left for the Phoenix the Aussie club buy the remaining 50% and transfer everything to their base in Sydney. Could be a case of both sides hedging their bets ?
