Not that it was ever in question, but hearing Piney's emotion and decibel level on the issue means a lot. He's the most consistently trustworthy voice the Phoenix have at the moment.
We're all feeling it to some degree. We might be uncovering the real fact of what and why the Phoenix have got it so wrong many times : No leadership. Everyone is looking down at the their shoes and waiting for the misery to land on their shoulders.
I miss the old days when Tony P would come on to the forum and alleviate issues and you could actually sense he was 100% committed to the badge and the human beings that chose to support his club. I don't mean to rag on Domey but wasn't he part of the marketing department who was then keen enough to try his hand at the role when it was vacated? Hell of a time to be alive as a general manager of a football club. Nice guy? Of course. Out of his depth? Probably. I look forward to Domey's memoirs one day when a Nix shirt is all but a faded painting shirt from days gone by.
The need for somebody who can wholeheartedly link between community > fans > players > management > board is needed now more than ever because this debacle has a been a magnifying glass on the directionless communication and leadership that has seemed to slip into our identity as a club.
Hard to argue! Perth Glory's scored a good one with their recent hire of Tony P.
