Which was precisely the goal of FFA disinformation, as it is the goal of all disinformation campaigns. The Russians, for example, are excellent at this. (Not saying the Russians work David Gallop as a glove puppet, but this is a technology of "peeing in the meme pool" which used by all the heavyweights who want to impact public opinion these days.)

Welnix seem to believe that a sit-down with Piney or Voerman or whoever would just give more legs to the furphies being spread by the Aussie press, and have instead decided on the current course of action. I won't say whether I think this is the right move or not. But I am highly, highly skeptical of anyone here who says their minds would be settled/reassured if Rob/Domey fronted the real media. I 100% believe that if this would happen, the response would be 100% sure to be but this just raises more questions! Some people have decided that Welnix are liars and will never believe anything they say from this point onwards. Or at least until the team starts winning.

The real chesnut is they can’t 100% rule out a sale of 100% of the club.

If some fool offers them $16.3M they well may just say fudge it we are selling. The chances of this are none to zero, but if a journo asks the question what do they say? Yes technically we could sell. Then you have your damaging ‘Nix for Sale’ headlines.

Think Morrison has zero appetite to devoting any time to navigating tricky interviews, and prefers to put his energies elsewhere. Sympathise with that to a point.

I still think they badly need a friend in the Australian media, so if the relationship with FFA is now completely dysfunctional, why not just pick an Aussie journo and feed them media releases, leaked emails or whatever to fight back.
