My postman has got a Kingz tattoo.

Repect.

Is that Chris Turner?

It could be. I couldn't see anyone wanting to employ Chris Turner in a football related capacity..

Yeah... I was there often the first season but my support has dwindled... now the fire has been rekindled because my home town has a look in :)

Can still remember the first A-league game... Roar vs (insert K word here) at Suncorp... lol

See ya Friday!

should the phoenix make the semis i reckon i could be keen for a tattoo somewhere....

Phoenix just as Dragon are very present in Chinese art.
Maybe you could make some searches among Chinese tattoo examples?

Patronising, condescending load of old sh*te. Not far from saying "well it's not European so it's not real football is it".

So it's ok for someone in, say Greece for example, to get their club's badge/crest tattoed? Or someone in London to get a tattoo of their local team? Or my Partick Thistle tattoo?  So why's that any different from someone in Wellington getting a tattoo to show their support for their local club?  Every European club had to start from scratch and build a loyal support, which is exactly what the Phoenix are doing now.

If someone wants to get a 'Nix tattoo, good on them.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

"Being a Partick Thistle fan sets you apart. It means youre a free thinker. It also means your team has no money." Tim Luckhurst, The Independent, 4th December 2003

the phoenix are a ligit team bro but most of the fans are bandwagoners who think they are cool because the turn up to games drunk and chant.

One would have huge bollocks to get a tattoo of a team that has exsited for 7 games and are still a new team,

most european clubs have been around for 100s of years, PAO included in that. The fact that (in greece anyway) clubs levels go way down to primary level and people grow up outside the stadium, play for their clubs at every level, watching thier clubs and going to games with their friends/family etc have a lifelong afiliation with them.

Tattoos are serious business for these people, the clubs are a big part of their lifes and true to their personal identity.

.....im sure some people are saving to get knights tattoos removed.....

if the phoenix are around in 20 years then i will get a phoenix tattoo on my chest

No.

1. I can't see how you can have "bandwagoners" for a new team, especially one that isn't top of the table.
2. Most of the fans are not drunk.
3. Most of the fans do not chant.

Don't call people, albeit indirectly, pathetic. Claiming it would take big balls to get a tattoo for a team so new in its life is fair enough and I agree with that statement. Calling such people pathetic is inflammatory and juvenile. Have some sense.

Loving the tattoo thread guys. Agreed that getting a Nix tat 7 games into the first season is risky - not to mention the A-League being only three years old too.A league re-structure down the track could render the tat obsolete... unlikely, but still possible.
Yes the fact that a lot of european clubs are very old makes them a far safer proposition. But in saying that, i wouldn't choose a tat based on a team's age or their risk factor. It just has to be about the heart. I had the arsenal crest tattooed on my arm a couple of months ago for the right reasons. Weighed up the pros and cons and came out in favour of the pros. Booked it a month in advance to give myself time to think and make absolutely sure - I think that was a valuable decision as it made me realise I was doing the right thing. Especially seems right now - I enjoy telling people that Arsenal havent lost a competitive match since I got it done!

And suffice to say, many many egg-chasers have ribbed me and asked if I will be getting the Nix on the other arm! My standard answer?

"give it a few seasons and we'll see!"

if the nix or the a-league fold and you have the tattoo of the phoenix at least you have the memory imprinted on your skin of the fun and exitement the team gave us during their time playing football for us the fans.i have many tattoos of thingsthat may not be around now but have no regrets about any of them,i would wear a phoenix tattoo proudly even if they eventually disappear(hopefully they won't).

Egg Chaser John Schwalger has a PHOENIX tatoo on his forearm and also has a daughter named Phoenix. I think this makes him the biggest (figeratevly and literally) Phoenix fan.

a phoenix sitting inside a ring of fire would be nice. with out a logo perhaps. that would be nicer for those wanting to take the safer approach..

Schwalgz and Mrs Schwalgz, dont stress some of us are just pleased you got the spelling right maybe someone helped you,

I heard a rumour you put it on there so you wouldnt forget her name.A bit like the ad on the telly.

When little Warrior and Breaker are born were will their names go?

Good to see you are looking on the site or were you just Googling your own name (I suspect the Latter)

Anyway stay a fan and good health to Phoenix. I think everyone knew it was you daughters name silly.

I would certinaly get a tat for the team i love and follow through thick and thin but maybe wait a little untill you have gone through some seasons then think about it again. And also think about the design, text, size, location and so on.
