I think it was the case that he just clicked with Dura and they became pretty inseparable? I was and am a big Siggy fan but remember thinking that Dura and Mckain at that point were a better combo.

 Also the midfield was packed with some talent in those days (gets misty eyed), Mulligan, Ferrante, a young, dashing Johnson , and that other guy his name began with Lei-something or other? - Simply stunning what commitment.

Mckain as defensive midfield was never going to get into such a midfield based on the philosophy that attack is the best form of defense. Heady days. Daniel in his pomp, Fred t-shirts, Disco...sigh.
