I'd like to pick up a player with atleast a couple years left in them... and I don't know if he has that.
His experience is needed. He should have enough in the tank by June this year. We are not worried about next year. It's this June we are considering. We need a team with a mixture of young and old to get that balance.

60 Caps, wealth of experience at high enough level, enough to foot a couple of games at this level. At 35, I have no problems with any player who can do the job. We all know he can do it and it would be the last hurrah for him.
Football does not rely of youth alone as in most things, Playing experience has a larger leverage than youth especially when genuine talent is scarce and immature.
There is going to be like five players over 30 in the squad and two of them are Goalkeepers. There would be like two teenagers and the rest (about 14 players) are in their 20s range in the 23 man squad. Don't neglect the big game experience needed.
