if Reddy has a "done deal" with SYD as you say el g, then why are the nix in talks with him ?that makes no sense what-so-ever.
They're not, it's just a convenient way to keep the pressure off.If Nix admit he's gone to us, media pressure piles up in the finals about loyalty and other such nonsense. What then happens if SFC get WPFC in the finals? (very likely since we're both likely to finish in that 3-6 bracket IMO).Best kept under wraps. That way Reddy (and Bolton for us) get to go through to year's end relatively unscathed by the media talk. When the season's done, Reddy can announce he's going home and Bolton can announce he's off to Heart. Meanwhile Paston takes back over as #1 next year when fit.

Well said. I don't know why anyone's even considering the fact that Reddy will be staying here when he's blatantly only here to fill the gap made by Paston's broken leg.

He even said himself he is looking to move to Sydney because of his family

I wonder what will happen with Fowler this week.

Could it be possible we pick up another disgruntled player??

I don't reckon. Despite the fact that he charges an arm and a leg for his services (we do have a marquee spot however), I don't even think we need him that much.
All this being said, he's proven that he's still a good player (9goals so far and a bunch of assists) so I wouldn't say no. But very very very unlikely.

Nik Mrdja has joined Melbourne for 6 months.  Will play for them in the ACL.

Was Joshua Rose any good for the Knights?

Seems he has been released by his Romanian club, where he was playing left back. Might be worth looking at to provide some back up.

Some others mentioned here:

Crap, you'd find someone better in Capital 3.

He blows hot and cold, would prefer Archie any day.

Did anyone else listen to the 442 podcast? They were talking about Reddy and McKain at the same time, said "the rumour is he's off to Sydney", would be no surprise if they meant Reddy but the way they said it sounded like McKain. I sincerely hope not...

McKain straight swap for Colosimo, then I wouldn't be complaining.

Nor would I, I'm a huge fan of Colosimo.

Just thinking, would it be worth going after Tarek Elrich?  He's a great player and he lives in Newcastle so I'm sure he'd be keen to move here.

I have always quite liked Tarek. But, I think we have a few to many right backs. We may need an understudy left back to cover Tony.

Too many right backs ? We have two.

But either way, I don't want another Elrich !

Well if you count Mulligan. Plus Sigmund can play there at times.

Put Tarek Elrich at right-back, Hearfield right-mid, keep Muscat where he is.

There's no issue there.  And I suspect Elrich could play left-back with a small level of competence should Lochhead get injured.

Sigmund is not a RB.

But he CAN play there. He has proved that.

Nix looking at NZFC Canterbury player Aaron Clapham who prefers the attacking mid field but has had a lot of game game at rb.

I still would like genuine cover at LB to ensure Lockhead knows he has to perform to keep his spot.

I don't think he has proved that, I think he has proved he is not a RB. And he is not up to the standard of an A-League RB. Fine CB though.

Yep, too slow and can't really get forward (though he did get *that* corner for the All Whites!)

He has definitely proven to be a decent enough RB. Watch the games a bit closer aye guys

So take it he's the ginga who played for the Nix against TWs earlier in the week?

Gingers don't have souls. We'd be a laughing stock. Plus, his hair would probably clash with our strip, which definately needs to be taken into consideration.

Clearly not a right back - they played him there in the first half, and he had a few positional issues (along with an attempted air-swing clearance, but he recovered well on that one). Thought he looked much better when pushed into the middle in the second half, but then again that was at the time when both teams made wholesale changes so it's difficult to evaluate in that context.

Scored a double for the Dragon's today in United's 6-0 win over Manawatu.

Was all over the place doing heaps of work.  Did well.  So did Tom Lancaster.  He'd be worth a look as well.  Those two head and shoulders above the rest.

Lancaster born in '88 so could be eligible for a youth team spot next year?  Or is that U-21?

Oh, and Calamity Ross was hilariously poor for Manawatu.  That guy is incredibly overweight for a goalkeeper.

Noticed that Kevin Phillips got a brace for Brum this morning, weren't we linked with him a year or so back? 36 years old and still going strong

Now, I am usually behind the 8-ball when it comes to these sorts of things, but I am sure that I heard in commentary in the GCU game that Reddy is considering staying in Wellington?
