They should stick to 4+1.� The whole point is to stop the league being over-run with imports and to make it so sides don't have to change whole line-ups for ACL football.� You start allowing more and more imports in when the squad minimum is 20 and the maximum 23 then you reduce the number of chances domestic players have which is the whole point of a league like the A-League.

They would have increase the salary cap, increase the matches in the season, increase the season length, increase the number of teams playing, increase matches played in the month before they can increase the squad number.
To be honest, I wouldn't say no to 4+2 or even 3+3 but would say no to 5+1. Special cases for AFC players can be made. But I would never have more than 5 import players of any kind on the pitch at any time, because it means that the local players are the minority and the national football style would diminished creating problems that can flow into the national team.
