The A-league is improving, but it's still some way from being anywhere near European leagues, even the mid-tier ones like SAS Ligaen. Just to give you a few more results achieved by teams from this league:
In 2008, AaB Aalborg finished third in their Champions League group (ahead of Celtic), and which included a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford. In the UEFA Cup the same year, they beat Deportivo La Coruna 6-1 on aggregate, and also Manchester City at home thought they lost the tie overall on penalties. Reid's FC Midtjylland also beat City that season in a game that season, though they too lost the penalty shootout.
