There's a lot to like about the Phoenix at the moment.

Things look a little downcast after we blew the game against Melbourne, lost to Sydney and then drew with Adelaide, but we've since had Muscat and Siggy available again, players coming into form, and with a couple of wins, we are building momentum again.

Caceres, Dadi and Reddy have come in and look like they are fitting like a glove. Players are hungry, they are competing for places, it's all good..

Dadi looks good in black and yellow. Purple and white was never his color.

Seeing the roar implode must be making Mckain reconsider his decision for next season surely?

Piney and Chotey were alluding to it in their commentary...Farina was the coach that made McKain a Socceroo...and the McKain to Brisbane rumours I think came whilst Farina was still in charge. With Ange there, things don't seem so rosy, and that connection to Farina isn't there anymore.

I'd love to retain him and also Hearfield, in that order.

This is a much better result than the game we went to last night- West Brom v Nottingham Forest.
Disappointed that Chris Wood wasn't fielded, but the 3-1 Loss at home for the baggies was pretty grim.
Looking forward to warmer weather and the westpac when we get back on Friday.....

Without taking the piss, Tony Lochhead's runs - particularly in the first half - were excellent. Just the crosses average again but thought he had a great game

I think it would be better (no disrespect to the AW game). FZ zone would be pumping things out and there'd be a greater variety of chants.

As much as the 14 Nov game was a special moment for NZ and NZ football, a packed RoF for a nix game would be better IMO - there is a greater emotional attachment to the club and the players (because we have seen them over the course of seasons, met them, got their autographs etc, stalked them (some of you), had dubious dreams involving them (some of you), etc, etc).

What's the problem with Reddy's right leg? Not using it to punt, and has defenders taking goal kicks. 
 
Reddy is only with us as a temporary replacement for Paston, and came in because our young reserve keeper has been tried at this level and found wanting. 
 
If Reddy fell over before a game, would Gould come on? I know he'd played in the SPL, but would he be up to the job at his age? Anyone seen him play lately? Nix training games or such?  
 
We're on a roll and need everyone fit if we're to keep rolling.

Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Yeah, that was then, but this is now.
 
Seriously, if we faced a string of  games without our first-string keeper, could Crowther do the job. 
 
Not intending to knock the guy and he might develop into a very good keeper down the line, but he's too "flaky" at the moment.
 
Hence my original comments about the possibility of throwing Gould in there and wanting to know how fit he is.
 
And don't forget, Ricki threw Reddy in the day he arived, even though Crowther was fit to play.
 
Wouldn't be surprised if Ricki had some sort of "Plan B" up his sleeve for the keeping slot if Reddy really is carrying an injury.

I don't think it's a question if he is carrying an injury or not - he definately, 100% is - it just depends if it progresses to the point where it impacts his movement and not just his kicking ability.

Interesting formations and movement in the game
 
there were times it was an obvious 4-1-4-1
then Brown and Lia (or one of them with Leo or Ifill) would drop and we'd have a 4-3-3, mainly with Leo, Ifill and Dadi ready to break. 
 
i thought the hoofed clearance had gone too - they seemed to look to quickly lay off a short pass with any ball they won at the top of the D, and that seemed to let them play out and maintain possession.  Looked like something they may have been working on
 
anyway, great game from the team.  Dadi fits this team's style.  Will be interesting getting Greenacre back in - loosing the sweeping Muscat defensive role to fit two up front.  Back to Brown and Lia holding the midfield (or maybe Brown and Muscat).
 
Great squad now.  Caceres, Daniel, Sigmund on the bench and Greenacre to fit in.  Sydney might have more ability to hold possession and build pressure, Melbourne has some scary threats up front and a tough back four, GCU has some serious attacking (if you let their midfield play) but playing our own game, I reckon  we can match any of them.  I might be getting ahead of things but finals footy could be quite exciting. :)

Durante still hoofed it up several times but it's not so bad when you have a guy like Dadi there.

Hes got a bit of an injury, so im guessing to avoid aggravating it he avoided kicking the ball too hard whenever possible.

And I think we should be seeing a bit more of Dadi, pretty much every time he got the ball he held it up really well. He doesnt quite have the legs (as seen in a couple of long balls put over the Roar defence that he couldnt quite get to before they did) but his one-touch game is top notch, which is a necessity for any decent striker.

Aisle 23 - not too bad yesterday - they were sober mostly, started off as amusing but did get a bit tedious.

Edit: Actually there is a good group which sit further back in Aisle 23 - they seemed to start up some chants that gain a bit of traction.
