Is this an official FIFA rule?? When I  played we always put our team first but when i got older I realised that the european convention was the way you say..

so I'm not sure whether it's a rule thing or culture thing?


Not a rule.  Just a convention.  Actually an American one but fairly common now.

The alternative convention is to put the leading team's name first but that's not so helpful.
