2014/15 Chant Meetups (no chant ideas in here please)

Would be great if the guys that were there today, joined us on game day in the middle of the zone.

I've updated the list. Let me know if there are any mistakes.

I really enjoyed yesterday and being in the group, but my season ticket is for somewhere else. So won't be allow in the zone and would feel a bit uncomfortable possible taking someone else's seat. 

Saying that, I would come over and join in with the group.

Unless it's a big crowd, there is plenty of room for you to come over and join in. Do it.

Or "I will have a cup of tea" for the last line depending on who you ask.

On game day you can:

a) go to the information desk and ask for a ticket in the Zone - they should give you one

b) walk around from the next door aisle

If you have any problems with that, let us know because the Phoenix ARE keen to enable people to join the Zone. So we will find a way.

And honestly, don't worry about taking anyones set in the middle section with us, everyone in and around there knows the drill and just wants the best atmosphere possible. 

Also, Smithy is (apparently) working on a Great Esacpe Type tunnel from the back bar at the Backbencher to the middle of the Fever Zone that pops up under one of the seats. Once that's finished you'll be able to just appear in the marked part of the zone and the whole issue will be moot.

Would think the best advice is the same as its been since the start.Go any where in the zone but if you attempt to sit in the seat of a season member then if asked move.

Completely agree - by "know the drill" I'm including that they will politely ask you to move with no real fuss. I'm not saying 'come into the Zone and stand anywhere you like because nobody will complain', I was saying to Yakcall 'don't let the thought of maybe being in someones seat put you off coming into the Zone'.

The bottom line is, the more people we have together in a group who want to chant and get involved, the better.

How, where and when we achieve that is open to discussion...

Reading this thread is getting me pumped for a big effort at our first game. Fire up? Already fired!! Gonna be the best start for us. Decent team, and a decent showing from fans I hope.

Chants on Sunday were class. Some of the new ones are genius. Hopefully the YF zone grows this season, with all the extra work you guys are all putting in. Wasn't involved on Sunday but hopefully will be for the Eden Park game. 

Its great to see a real concerted effort to look at the chanting this year. Its going to sound great on TV so well done to all.

As an idea to this, is there a person designated to start specific chants? That way there is not pressure on one person (or if you like, a WSW-style fuckw....er capo) to lead them all. i.e. this person may lead/start 2 or 3, this person may lead 2 or 3 and share it around?

They are taking me about 2 hours each to make, so I bloody well hope they look professional! ;)

Excellent work Patrick, it looks awesome and I like that you have linked back to the website and the app at the end too.

On the Youtube page, I think you should put the website and the app download in the descreption too.

I haven't seen that one yet. So I wondered where he saw it. 

It looks from the pic he posted that it might be in the app.

I am a windows phone user, so can't access the app.

Can/will all of the ones that have been done be posted in the chants board, perhaps in the main locked solid gold hits thread, so that people with Windows phones (or without the app fopr whatever reason) have a way of seeing them without having to randomly search on Youtube?

Yup, they'll all be on the website (in the new yellowfever.co.nz/chants section) and the forums (in the topic linked to by the Chants banner above). Dale's got a test version of the app which is why he could see that one. I'm waiting until all the code needed (website, Android and iOS) is completed before it all goes live, which should be done by early next week. Figured a big release of everything would have more impact than filtering it all out one by one.

Cool, thanks for the explanation. Not being able to use the app I just assumed there were others already on there - I couldn't work out Dale had a test version. Makes sense. Looking forward to the big release.
