PRE-SEASON | It's half time and both teams are on the board with one each. The #Nix Fijian striker, taking a penalty and making light work of it. (1-1)

I can't believe Krishna scored another pen. Great!

I take it having this game against the Victory means the team Wellington game won't be happening can anyone confirm

The last time Krishna got an A-League penalty for us was against Victory & we lost 6-1

From a Nix Facebook group. Wellington Phoenix reserves are playing a pre-season friendly against Team Wellington tomorrow Saturday 6th October. Kickoff is at 1pm at Martin Luckie Park.

These closed shop preseason games do very little for supporters. It seems the clubs only tell you the score and nothing else. After all we live in this age of social media??

Okay, but the last Krishna penalty we got was against Sydney FC last week.

PRE-SEASON | Full time & the #Nix take the win 3 goals to 1 after a solid team effort & a hat-trick to @RoyKrishna21 against a full strength @gomvfc side.

Strong, defensive performance with keeper, Kurto, only required to make one save.

Without pics/replay it feels like FAKE NEWS :)

But it is good to hear we are playing against A-league teams that are expected to occupy the pointy end of the table and being competitive!

Putting my complaining aside, Twitter has just given me the confidence to start expanding the Nix trophy cabinet.

Honda scored the 1 for Victory apparently.

time for him to cement his status as a star and Nix legend. Hopefully there will be support for him this season

Really happy we are managing to squeeze in competitive pre season games now, as our pre season has been mostly weak. I think getting a win is important for the squads mindset going into the season too.

Obviously we dont really know the circumstances, but it sounds like a promising performance.

Krishna is God! .... Oops, that might not be approved by some.

Maybe we aren't so desperate for an overseas striker.

I still have no idea if Kurto is actually any good. In the pre-season games which people have watched/match reports written up about them, all that is said about him is that he didn't have to do much other than pick the ball out of the net. That is probably a good sign for the defence set up tho.

Heard Sail, Burns and Lowry didn't play.

So a guess it went

             Kurto
      Taylor Dura Fox
Fenton              Doyle/Cacahe
            Kopy/Rufer
     Singh Butters
Krishna.           Williams

Phoenix have said victory were at full strength. The one gif of the game has Honda, Raúl Baena, Troisi and I think its Donachie playing in the first half. Article says Thomas and Toivonen started. https://www.smh.com.au/sport/soccer/honda-scores-f...

Sosa Pena = Armando 'I'm Mandi, trial me' Sosa Pena

Missing: Kopa, Lowry, Yoo, Burgess, Tratt.

Only one starting recognised DM - Rufer.

Maybe this:

             Kurto

      Taylor Dura Doyle
Fenton                    Cacace
               Rufer
       Nicols Singh
Krishna           Williams

'Good defensive effort' apparently but that's quite an attack-minded eleven. Wonder how Rufer played.

No Kopa.... injured?

That's not a bad write up.

Rufer is a AM... just said he'd play there if needed last year in a bid to get more minutes... personally I think that role suits him better.

Probably a 3-4-3 tbh, with Williams as a central striker & either Singh/Nichols pushing wide.

Will be interesting to see if Lowry/Kopa get a run in this.

wow, that's absolutely their strongest team. Massive effort from our back 5 to shut out that attacking quartet for 90 minutes, bar the pen
Annual finals disappointment enthusiast.

Yep, their 11 highest value players according to Transfermarkt.

MV 11: 10.98m

Nix 11: 3.825m

Shaky preseason for MV - also losing to Apia 3-2, and drawing 1-1 with Brisbane.

Yes sounds like an impressive effort to hold out Melbourne.

I'm told he's injured. Tratt is no longer in the frame.

They lost 2-0 to CCM at a similar time last pre season which seemed to turn out OK

No Tratt - surprising.

Unless he is planning on promoting a lot of youth, where are the rest of the players coming from?

Damning indictment on our lack of goal scoring options that Krishna was the only one able to score vs no keeper.
