I think you all fail as you have not shown your workings.
Without any you might as well be making it up.

178.885 to the power of two (or 178.885 squared for those mathematically challenged)
Based on the fact I bought 8 tickets...don't reach for your calculator, do it by mental arithmetic like I did

I heard from someone who went to the game that it was pretty poor and around 10-15k
I'm sure the official figure will be bumped up though

Workings: Exactly 6 times bigger than the GCU - Newcastle game and the second highest non international football game at ring of fire.
Second only to the one in two weeks after we have despatched Perth 3 nil.

According to Sunday News Canes crowd was 11479. So cant take too much notice of reports on ticket sales.

Well, not their ticket sales anyway. Around 11k s maybe about right, though I was talking to some season ticket holder last night who reckoned it was more like 8k.
As for us. I'll go with 25,043.

Official attendence "just under 12,000".
He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

I can never really judge Hurricanes games because of the scattered crowd. I suppose I'm just used to the distribution of the Phoenix crowds when judging numbers. But the corporate boxes would have been packed last night, their first game of the season and all that. Hurricanes/rugby is probably still seen as a cooler 'corporate' event (I think). Which is probably just a indication of how old fashioned thinking runs rampant in corporate New Zealand!

This isnt right. My Dad is a chef who works most of the Hurricanes game and this week most of the chefs got told not to come in because the bookings were all down....

Actually the last 3 seasons the first Super 14 home game crowd has been the biggest / one of the biggest crowds of the season.

Interesting. I was mostly going by someone I know who works for a company that haven't been using their box for the Phoenix, but did a big push for the Hurricanes. Obviously just one example and I shouldn't really draw widespread conclusions from such things!!

Not last year it wasnt 2009 first game against waratahs - crowd was 12, 384. But 2008 they got over 14k againt reds.

Also a bit embarrassing in the Backbencher before the game when there were more Western Force Supporters in there than locals.
I'm slightly disappointed!
