You obviously weren't understanding me properly. My point is that the player was standing in wait because he identified Smith was green and quite possibly would make an elementary error of the type I described. And you will find that is not a common practise in serious levels of competition either.

It was like watching someone playing FIFA against their drunk mate

Galloway dribbling past one or two but ultimately ending up losing the ball way out of position had that vibe for me too
