He has only looked like doing that a couple of times with way more minutes than Appiah. Sarpong really doesn't seem to want to be here, when we were playing Adelaide he just needed to run at Hall to force an error, Hall looked really shaky. Everyone in the front line was putting pressure on him except Sarpong. He just wasn't involved in the press, just didn't look interested. All Sarpong needed to do was have a little bit of intent and he would have been getting into good positions to score, but he just didn't look like he cared apart from that one shot that came off the post. If the ball comes to him, he'll have a go but he's not trying to create anything, not chasing anything.
At least Appiah seems to care and wants to create something. Even if its just madly running at defence and putting them into a panic. That is contributing more than what Sarpong manages to do.
I wont' say that I'm advocating for Apiah to start, I think he's probably good to have off teh bench running at tired defenders. But I don't think Sarpong is a starting player either. We need a new striker in this window.
