Good test to see if our culture really has changed. We don't have a great track record of going on with it after winning a few in the row, and this is one of those games we also must win. Another factor to be wary of is the underdog card, which we've utilised well in this run, as no-one in Oz really rates the Phoenix. Up until now anyway. But we're unlikely to get away with playing that card again. The 3 wins (and more the way we did it vs WSW) means we're potentially not far away from becoming the hunted, and that will be a whole new ballgame. Probably have to give Boyd a start with Stein after last week. He deserves it. But seeing Boyd up ended 'legally' the other night is a reminder how careful these kids have to be managed on the paddock, as they become fair game for hardened A league destroyers. Won't surprise me if Ernie sticks Brockie and Cunningham in again. Mariners are hard as nails.

I agree entirely. Boyd is fast, and can actually outmanouvre / outrun defenders when he comes on in the later stages of the game.  Personally I think he might be less effective early in the game - he is very promising, but slight of build, and might struggle in the first half. Yes, we may score an early goal if he starts, but we can also lose him for a couple of months with an injury, even if the other guy gets a yellow. Our squad is a bit to think to go all out with Boyd as a first option.

Another issue is mental. When I see Brockie being subbed off and Boyd comes on, I say "great!".  I am not sure what I'd say when the reverse was on offer.
