Since the Phoenix started using that ground it has been strictly Nix-only. Even during winter it has always been impossible to get on. Surprised to hear they let someone else use it.

Sack the ground staff.

Surely the groundsman has just been prepping it to resemble Suncorp.

Fair shout. Anyone know how Hutt Rec is looking? I don't think I've ever seen the playing surface out there

I hope they are watering it! There is a kids athletics meeting on Hutt Rec this weekend too!

Had a look at it a couple of weeks back, if they have kept up watering the grass cover looks good but did think that the surface is a little bumpy under foot. If it doesn't soften/flatten out it could be a bit inconsistent.

Should I go with a Siggy banner for this game given his contract extension?

This is a good candidate.

Other option being some sort of solidarity message to the Jets fans?

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I quite like the Jets fans idea. The squadron have always come across as a decent bunch of fans and I'm sure they'd appreciate it given how much of a clusterfudge their club is in at the moment.

Siggy is and always will be a club legend, but a one year contract extension isn't that big of a deal is it?

I've already got the Siggy banner. I don't have a Jets banner. Siggy = less work, therefore he wins.

How bout a banner about being in the Hutt?  Probably a lot more work though.

I think Patrick is talking about the banner he is going to take to Suncorp on Monday, not for the first game at the Hutt Rec.

Oh do you mean your Hulk Siggy banner? I thought you meant the big banner for the next home game. Fair enough either way.

I think its best staying clear of the whole Jest thing. Let them and FFA deal with it.

The Hulk Siggy isn't mine, I've got another one that is of Siggy's face, not the big banner.

We've also got other plans for a tifo at Hutt Rec, just waiting on approval. If it gets approved, we won't need the big banner.

Make sure you don't leave it on a table at the pub. It didn't end well with your banner that had Nathan Burns face on it

When was this game rescheduled to Monday night 10 pm?

My Phoenix wall chart from the Sunday Star Times says Sunday 5 pm. I was planning my evening around that.

The original season draw as released had the game as 3 pm AEDT (5 pm NZT) on Sunday:

It would be good to know which other games have been rescheduled...

Having watched all of the Roars games this season I reckon the one that will really be  welcomed back is Theo.

For me the other keeper Young has cost them 9 points, although he improved in the last couple of games.

They might give us a tough game.

I'm picking them to have a better second half of the campaign and sneak into the playoffs. Just hope the worm doesn't turn against us. Still look light on goals though.

We're screwed.  Wooden spoon here we come.

Permalink Permalink

I expect a lot of early pressure in the first half with their returning players (Broich, McKay) wanting to assert themselves.

Polenz will be his usual aggresive self and I hope like hell he won't be allowed anywhere near Riera's legs.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

At least Henrique's out and if McKay gets game time on Saturday night I doubt he'll start.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Ernie was interviewed on Wednesday and said they wwould fly Nathan to Brisbane following the Asian Cup final and that he would be in the squad and was likely to play.

Brisbane have just signed a striker,  former Serbian International Andrija Kaludjerovic.

Wonder if he will be ready to play Monday. Definitely a stronger first XI now.

Think he is still waiting for a Visa so would suggest he won't be there for Monday.

Most teams have strengthened their sides by making a few signings. As far as I'm aware of the Nix haven't.

Will that come back to bite us?

I can pronounce these  - Brattan, McKay, Bowles, Donachie , Brown, North are the easy ones.
