What a difference a player makes. I thought A-Rod was MOM and made a huge difference to forward impetus. If I was coach, that would be the line up for the rest of the season although judging by how Fenton had his bell rung for him.....

Chris Beath. Ok yeah I get that you got the yellow cards and thats fine but have some brains to see that there was more going on there than just 'I'll foul you and get carded'. It was deliberate to stop us having any attacking impetus and Burns will need physio after all the kicks he got. He should have red carded someone and then made the statement that 'we are here to play football' After all, did the yellow cards he show really make City change the way they played? They just ran someone else at Burns and kicked him until he got carded and then ran the next guy. That really was amateur refereeing and I could not care if he has an international star on his chest - he contributed to City getting a point by not correcting the issue and allowing football to happen.

I thought Boxall was a better footballer and effect on the game when he was swapped for Fenton and I would be ok if he started there next week. I think he takes better/smarter options than Fenton and I do wonder if Ernie is waiting for Fenton to have a break out game or something. If not, I would prefer to go back to Muscat and Doyle.

I do wonder about next week. What are we going to do to get some goals? 1 point from 9 is not ideal but we should have had points last week and this week and we did not because of finishing. I don't believe Boyd is the messiah and I think mixing up the tactics would help more. Teams just jam the box on us now so its fair to say we have been figured out as a team that only shoots from inside the box. How is Boyd going to unlock a packed penalty area if there are players that are better than him that can't. Boyd scored 4... They also played Southern and 3 were penalties. Its clear that regardless of who played, City were just going to kick the shark out of them.

To answer EGs question about the clearance off Moss' knee, the ball did not cross the line. We freeze framed (for the very same reason) and he knee was above the line. If you work on the whole ball must cross the line, it can't have.

Some of you points may be right, but it seems that you missed the first half. Could have be 2/3 down by then.

We battered them the second but our strikers could not finish. I think the wind had something to do with how the whole game panned out.

As for MC got every player to kick Burns until they got booked is pure fantasy.

I do agree with this observation but if we can make this connection surely Ernie will have too.Fudge I am getting nervous.I just hope we smash the Jest to take the heat off

Watch the tape. Every time he touched it, they fouled him. Listen to Ernie - he said much the same.

I loved the zone, we might have been a bit silent in the second half because the game was quite patchy. BUT, the humour up there was the best for a long time. Some of the remarks were brilliant. Trying to get the ball boy to shift he Microphone, chanting when the "Croud" figure went up on the small screen - needs more screen guys. The locals sat down in the proper Fever Zone and wouldn't budge so we moved into the corner and for the rest of the game everyone else sat and we all stood and had fun.

Anyone else notice that in the Southerly those two cranes holding up the temp lightening swing quite well and that the chains holding up the lights don't look that strong. It would have killed a large group of people had it broken loose and spoiled a fair few Sausage Rolls.

haha, just watched the highlights and thought he wasn't that bad, and another day we'd have made one of those stick. He's missed a few in the past, but it's just been a sign of us knocking on the door.

Also it the lead up to what was actually a very tricky 'one-on-one' where he was shut down by 3 players, their defender had a hand on his shoulder and we've seen Nix players sent off for that kind of thing in the past...

we actually had more than enough chances to win. Kinda reminiscent of the CCM game. The next goal will lead to a flood.

I reckon if we'd got a goal up, and MC had to play and push forward to get the draw, rather than chop us down all game, we might have beaten them 3 or 4 zip.  We just didn't quite take our chances.  Perhaps Duff going off early didn't help us.  That probably made them more negatively inclined very early on.

You couldn't really say they were negatively inclined. If it wasn't for Mossy's outstretched leg and a couple of last ditch Siggy specials we would've been out of the contest by half time. They had a good gameplan: hassle and harry us all over the park, foul us if necessary, get the ball wide, then sling it over into the box to put our vulnerable defence under aerial pressure. It almost worked too.

what are the pitch dimensions there compared to Westpac out of interest?.

Wondered about the floodlight strength for the 7pm match?

Noted liquor outlets had Henkell Trocken as bubbles option..really.  Water was $3 inside caravan area and two dollars outside apparently.

Good t see teams and coach walk past within touching distance at start through "tunnel".

the whole stand looked like it would be included in a future episode of "Seconds from disaster". I felt that if the stand had collapsed all of the fever would have been wiped out.

Hey Warwick,

Not sure if it was a 14/15 cap, but I found a Phoenix cap on floor and put it on the arm the Steinlager couch in the Garden bar after the game. Might be worth giving the Bellevue a call to see if it was yours.

looked very narrow. The game between the edge of the box and the 10 yeard mark for corners is usually bigger than this.

If you read the Nix stadium rules you were allowed to bring bottled water into the ground.....I brought in a half litre no problem. Some people where I was sitting had brought along sandwiches and filled rolls. One of the nice things about the day was how relaxed all the officials were. There was a much better vibe that you get with the fun nazi's at Westpac. They seem to think we are all hooligans, if not monitored, will create mayhem. In actual fact people who go to Nix games are there to have a fun day out. They are not there to fight, throw bottles and try and invade the pitch. I really dislike the whole vibe at Westpac.....it would be my least favourite football stadium on the planet.

At Westpac the edge of the box is 15 yards from the touchline. That looks about 13. Didn't help our set pieces.

Can only bring in  a sealed bought bottle of water.  Or empty bottles to fill up with water from the drinking fountains.

To date I have not had any problems with entry to any of the venues, although we did sneak in kazoos a few games back.

As our set pieces have been pretty much shark since Day 1, no matter what pitch we're playing on, I think we need a lot more than the pitch to help with our set pieces!

Few points:

- ground looked great on TV and atmosphere sounded pretty good especially second half.  But why were YF stuck in the corner and not behind the goal?  Got to fix that for next week!

- teams defending deep against us is a problem we need to figure out how to solve because it negates our overlapping attacks.  We get crouded out even when our guys are getting in behind the fullbacks.  For all the good situations we got into we didn't create that many great chances, I don't remember Burns having a single good chance in that game

- we need to address the set pieces because we are absolutely getting targeted.  Cynical but effective...some of the delivery isn't great but Sigmund is the only one who really aggressively attacks the ball

- it says it all that in a game where we needed a late burst off the bench Ernie didn't introduce Kenny after a poor impact last week, clearly it's not form based not to use Boyd.  We actually look quite light off the bench

- my view on Boxall seems to differ from the majority on here, I just don't think he's a fullback at all and I don't think he has any of the attribute to play the position.  He's just not the answer, his passing isn't good enough, he's not really a great crosser of the ball and he doesn't really get behind the defence.  Fenton needs to work on his delivery but RB is an attacking position for us so you have to judge Boxall on that part of his game, and I don't think he's up to it.

- Ernie is going to earn his money this week, there will need to be a bit of a shift in the game plan or a sustained media reminder to the referees about the tactics being used against us!

It wasn't clear on TV what actually happened, the commentators said Moss got him but Siggie was back by the post.  Did he cop something from one of their guys?

Hahaha! Cos the Jets haven't seen us play at all this season, so would've been totally surprised and had no plan at all to deal with us at all. Worthington is a plank!

Thanx..yeah I had noted

that short distance.  Didnt help with corners tho but equally losing say 4m off  apicth width made the central channel very tight.  Plan B needs to be more long balls for Roy to run onto.

Yeah you are right, its not clear what broke his nose but they zoomed in on TV and you could see it bleeding. I guess Siggie will know for sure. Playing on with a broken nose would not be an easy feat so kudos to him.

Is it time to resurrect the "not-a-striker" meme? Both our last games have been situations where I think having a big targetman in the middle of the park would have helped us. Harder to chop down, a target to aim crosses and set pieces at, and an option to hit the occasional long ball too. Burns and Krishna between them have a great scoring record this season but it would be good to have a big guy for one or both of them to play off when we,are struggling to break teams down with the pace and passing game.

People like Coldplay and voted for the Nazis. You can't trust people.

Think we lacked something different off the bench - whether it was a different type of striker, or another creative midfielder.

If only we had a striker in the reserves scoring 10 goals in 5 games...
