The problem with Lia is that he tends to make basic errors in crucial territories - and those errors are so obvious and easily remembered (like yesterdays game, he passed the ball directly to opposition which put our backline under enomous pressure).

Scapegoat or not, it happens for a reason.

I think he just need to do the basics right, that will improve his game big time.  i would rather have him clearing the ball out than losing the ball 25m in front of the goal.

I fully admit his last 70min was OK, BUT, if he continues without improving he will be the weakest link in our midfield and those basic errors he makes will cost us points this season (the errors he made yesterday gave the WSW at least 2 good scoring chances, we won't be lucky all the time).

To back up the point I make here: in the presason match vs Auckland City his back pass created a 1 on 1 but the Auckland striker couldn't finish, in another preseason match (forgot against which team) he lost the ball 25m out and the opposition scored.

Do the basics right, that's all I want from him.
