Roly and Tom seen walking into Cash Converters with their TV's this afternoon. More to follow.

Roly I could kind of understand because he's obviously on his way at the end of the season - but even then, he's still our best midfielder playing with 1 leg and a blindfold.

Doyle..I don't understand at all. We're weak at full back. Parkhouse is not a fullback. Who is going to play there instead?

It'll be McGarry, Rogerson and Sail that drop out. It says two to be omitted, but there's 18 names there so need to drop three out to get down to 15.

There's still hope for the finals. For starters, WSW's fans always give us a glimmer of it.

Spain '82 is where it all really began for me. There were a few moments before, plenty of moments after, but that World Cup was the zeitgeist.

Don't have any hopes for this match..

Just want a result for goodness sake. We can't stay within the bottom 3 teams every year!!

Three weeks ago there was a Doyle article about how he has become a leader in the squad and how he's matured... now he's dropped despite been our best LB.

Makes no sense!

McG to start in the 10 role, Ridenton to left back?

Not sure I really see what others do in Ridenton,...he's clearly not a fullback, doesnt seem very quick on his feet and doesnt seem to have progressed too much since he was first mooted as a nix player

This is the problem with NZ Football. I have watched the 'weenix' on numerous occasions this year - live and on TV and have been amazed at the attitude of a good number of their players. They seem more concerned with their trendy haircuts than actually rolling up their sleeves and playing. Rogerson and McGarry are certainly in that bracket and now they have been promoted to the first team - only in New Zealand....

According to Piney in the Herald it was a "breach of team protocol" which led to Roly, Doyle, and Lowry getting dropped. Drunken shenanigans?

I actually don't mind Ridenton, but I would like to see him play in his preferred position for a change.

Re: Roly and Tom out of the squad - until and if we know why the decision has been made, I'll back the coaching staff as they are the ones who observe players day in, day out.

But I do agree that Roly is out best midfielder by a country mile, so even if he was leaving soon - which sounds like a done deal - I would personally still use him and then sub him off to blood the likes of Singh etc.

At the end of the day he is a professional and it's in his best interest to keep playing, and play as well as the possibly can, until he's put pen to paper elsewhere.

WeeMac is out of the team with minor injury, so I expect Parkhouse will have a busy day on the left side of the field.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Most recent link on main page mentioned Roly, Doyle and Lowry were dropped for "breaching team protocol".

The plot thickens.

I'd've omitted Moss too, he won't be with us next season and he's been below par most of this. Give Italiano a run with Sail as back-up.

Breaching team protocol in Roly's case could just mean playing to about 30%of your ability.

I hope that this is not washed under the carpet and the club tells us exactly what team protocol these players have broken.

Think that all fans deserve that courtesy after this season.

I am still waiting for the club, the coaching staff and the players to apologise for that school boy effort out on last weekend. I refuse to call it a football game, capitulation would be a more accurate description.

So to get them to couth up what the players did wrong will be a tough ask although fans do deserve to be treated with some respect. oerhaps they were the only three players who did not get plastered after the lastest effort?

Forgive my maths here but 11 players plus 5 subs (4 outfield and 1 GK) = 16. So then need to drop 2?

The three were out of line. The club took action. Good enough for me. Now the team needs to take action against the roar! COYN!!

Roly, Doyle and Lowry were caught by trademe bidding on each others TV cabinets driving the prices up. The practice known as 'shill bidding' is illegal and as such, the club have taken action. More to follow.

if I had confidence in the club at the moment then sure I may trust their decision.

At the moment however I don't have confidence and if players are playing up then we should have been advised of what they did

Did it deserve a one game stand down? Was it a fair cop?

Should they have been stood down for more?

We have no idea and some more info should be provided

Ah yes, I overlooked that it's not 3+1 players on the bench anymore. My bad.

I agree with you martinb about Parkhouse he is rubbish all these players Merrick signed are now coming back to haunt us. Parkhouse was resigned again by these two plonkers that are coaching now fast becoming a joke

I like him as part of a front 3 and as an impact sub...but he's not a fb. At a pinch a wingback with good mid cover

I think he's a C-Grade winger and a Z-grade full-back, personally.

I've never really seen him have much impact off the bench, either, unless i'm misremembering?

I realise this is a boring comment to make - but genuinely would prefer a young kiwi in there if we're just going to use him as an impact sub usually or as a winger; even someone like Rogerson who hasn't set the world alight.

It sounds like what those three did was quite bad. I have seen the prospect of an indefinite suspension bandied around.

Sounds like they probably threw their toys out of the pram after the 5-1 loss..?

If so, I would've too. So eh.

Apparently a large order of "Steak and cheese" pies was seen to be delivered to the stadium changing rooms just before the game, so Im not sure quite what was going on there.

At end of the 5-1 drubbing last Saturday Roly was the 1st guy off and walked straight down the tunnel .. ignored the support staff handing out pens for the signing area for fans. Not sure whether the other two did the same.
