It's certainly an outlier in the pattern. 

Except if you added the one more season (11/12) to your analysis with 32 goals against, it wouldn't be an outlier. For the previous four seasons it would be two good defensive records and two poor. Even if you went back six seasons, it would still be 50/50 good records versus poor records.
