The most worrying thing for me was seeing Ernie on TV- several close up shots and he seemed to have the expression "What the fark am I doing here?", and I don't just mean Napier...
Ernie is famous for being (usually) a dour expressionless Scot. His days at MV were a great chance for watching an Easter Island statue doing postmatch interviews. In contrast, when he arrived from Hong Kong and was giving press interviews in Welly, he was so cheerful and sunny I thought it may have been a sunstroke. So I guess his expression on TV last weekend was his usual thoughtful self when his plan of converting Phoenix into reincarnation of FC Barcelona takes longer than he expected.
Having said that, has anybody noticed that even Josep Gombau with his impeccable pedigree is having the same problems at Adelaide Utd? They clearly had transition problems around the back four to midfield against the Mariners. I know it is a wrong thread, but I am saying that simply in reference to our own midfield transition wobbles. Maybe we are all guilty of expecting too much too soon.
