Finkler was at the middle of everything we created against Sydney. Not sure what else he is meant to do? He's not the only player who hasn't scored a goal, in case you all forgot.

I thought A-Rod was injured? Injured. So not playing or traveling.

Just to be clear, my post wasn't bagging Finkler, but just saying that it seems like at the time we renewed A-Rod's contract we might not have been planning to sign another import mid. If we hadn't then our first choice midfield may well have had him in it.

Also, didn't he miss last preseason with a hammy issue that wouldn't heal? Is the a susceptibility to hamstring injuries there we should be concerned about?

Yeah but even when fit it looks like he's not in the first choice midfield. And last week he wasn't listed as injured but wasn't in the squad either

I think Finkler was ok in the last game as played some nice balls... Our forwards need to make better runs and time them more effectively.

For sure it is a team game. Not just forwards needing to make better runs either.

No reason we can't win against MV, just need to get our shark together, and quickly

Thing is its not just the forwards, plenty of times where our player on the ball dosnt look quick enough to see what player movement is going on ahead of them. Also dosnt help the forwards when they get crowded by players moving into their space.

i think our midfield need to move the ball twice as quick. First time passes create goals, we dont do them. You watch.

There's no way I can avoid watching this one.. It's a 7:20pm match.

Not looking forward to it, but we could still do some damage. They're not exactly playing great either..? Got pantsed by City, left it very late against Adelaide.

That being said, I would honestly be happy with a 1-1 draw right about now...

I don't think I can be nervous about a game that I am so sure we are going to lose.

Pretty much this. Not going into this one with a massive amount of optimism so I won't be too upset of it all goes pear shaped. I'd be happy with a draw tonight.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Exactly what these two have said. How can you be nervous about a game you expect to either lose, or at the very least struggle in.

Three for me, and two for them.

I'm nervous about this being a 6-0 thumping rather than the 3-0 I expect.

I still think it's stupid that we always get the Monday night game against MV the night before the Melbourne Cup. They should make it the Melbourne Derby to really maximize the fact it's a public holiday on Tuesday in Victoria and the whole city gets a party vibe

Melbourne Derby will pull a crowd anyway. Makes more sense for them to use a team that wouldn't really pull a crowd any other time.

So it should be CCM or the Jets then and at least it would be a good time for their TV audiences unlike for us. We probably get a better away crowd in Melbourne than those teams anyway, thanks to all the kiwis there

Might sound stupid but on the Eve of Melbourne Cup its probably cheaper andceasier for the FFA to arrange for their only international based side to travel and play in Melbourne!

Stop the angst. We score early and the team will klick, the Nix will totally dominate them for the rest of the game. We even get an offside goal and a pen in the 83 minute. Berserk get a yellow-red for a dive in the box, Muscat will explode on the sideline. It's all clearly visible in my crystal ball.

I would not be surprised if Finkler had a good game tonight.

He may feel he has a point to prove to Kevin Muscat and to the club in general.
