Last time we played the bottom placed team at home.................

Perth and Heart are heading in the opposite directions down/up the table.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

If I was HN and Hatter, I'd be taking my boots to the game "just in case".

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Wow, we look scarily thin this weekend. There are red flags popping up all over that possible starting XI. Thus not going in with high expectations (in fact any expectations at all) to this one, which is sometimes the best way to be.

Got to love watching the Nix at home though. Can't wait to see what happens...

How many internationals did Perth have playing on Wed?  None. How many did the Nix have? Six. Let's see Boxall, Dura, Boyd, Siggy and Brockie (but not Moss) bring some of that pacy international form to the cake tin on Sunday.

so Timms comes onto the bench or do we use adams?

ive seen naught of either so i dont know who is better quality. but i imagine since that timms can play LB that he comes in.

I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

So if Timmins starts, what message does that send to Brindall-South?

That he isn't up to the standard? Think he's been poor in every outing so far.

I wonder if Luke Adams is into surfing, skateboarding or listening to music

I don't disagree with what you are saying but it also highlights that recruitment got it wrong. He was a very rushed late signing and you have to wonder why

I hope we don't offer him a deal again next year and instead offer it to a Kiwi FB who can develop (even if it is over 2 years)

^So just what is it with ex-Olympian Adam Thomas? Mid-life crisis at 21?

That's a bloody good question that I too have asked.

While I think Declan has had a positive effect on some of his charges development, this is one lad that should have thought for himself. The move to Wellington has not worked for him and to be fair, he is certainly good enough for TW. I think his best role is as a CB and I think he would be a better pick than Luke Adams.

I actually thought he did some really good things in that first game against Newcastle.  He certainly looked easily as comfortable as Fenton has done this year.  Yes he got beaten for a couple of goals but that's happened pretty regularly to all of our fullbacks.  I'm actually quite interested to see him again

Agreed. If we have people signed up then we must try to get something out of them - and B-S was not great but not terrible either. We cannot afford to turn him into yet another Luke Adams - contracted but not even on the bench for any game so far.

Key to this game is Vinny Lia. If he can do a half decent impersonation of a distributing DM then our front guys have more than enough firepower to win this. Really nervous about this one. Should be 3 points but if our midfield does not fire then we are in for a tough match.

Also concerned about our bench. With the AW guys having a huge week they may start to flag late in the match......we need the the bench guys to come on and put in a good shift
