If we have inside info can we state the facts or not say anything at all. People just get annoyed.

              Moss
Christie - Dodd - O'Dor - Lochead
              Aloisi-Johnson
Felipe            -        Daniel
            Smeltz-Brownlie

in terms of passing on info, it's all down to what your "HP" is happy with

otherwise why the hell would they let you in on things next time round

No Brown, Daniel questionable and you're only allowed 4 subs Felipe.

I've been disappointed with Covs and Brownlie in equal doses. I reckon the same starting X1 as last week.
Wish we had Embers up front with Smeltzy, that would be interesting.

Don't know why'd you'd drop Johnson, he was quality against the jets. If Brown is out Johnson will slide in alongside Aloisi. And if Daniel isn't fit i'd give Brownlie a run.

I didn't think Johnson was that impressive. Though he did enough to warrant another start, at least. I would definately keep the same backline - it worked better without Clebs unforunately.

4 subs!?

don't think that is a good idea by the a-league, should be more so that younger players, or players returning from injury can get some game time lets say if you are 3-0 up with 20/30min to go. Great for giving youngsters experience at this level. should be 6/7.

only reason i can think of having 4  is reducing costs of travelling with 2/3 extra members of the team.

WP need 2 strikers. classic 4-4-2 formation with felipe and daniel as midfielders will work attacking wise.

And then those younguns sit on the bench and keep it warm the other 99% of the season...

Here are those NOT travelling...

Draper, Spoonley, Costa B, Lia, Brown, Clebo and Brownlie

The other 15 are going (obviously).  Intersting move to leave Brownlie behind - leaves only George as an attacking sub really.....

Instead of? Watching the game on TV or from the stands.

Brownlie should definitely take Daniel's position, so I can't understand why he isn't travelling. Is he injured?

And, from liverpoolfan1's comment, does that mean that George will be travelling?

Yep, George is on the plane, Brownlie is staying home - don't think Brownlie's injured, just unlucky...

be interesting to see how the elusive Yeti I mean George gets on,

that is if he gets on, of course

Team should be;

                          Paston
  Christi      O,Dor      Dodd    Old
                        Johnson
  Daniel                Aloisi             Brown
                Felipe          Smeltz

  • if Daniel is injured Brownlie or Farrante instead
  • Brown is more of a central midfielder but with the way all a-league teams are playing he wont feel to out of position
  • what we need is a fast winger that can blaze up and down the line and deliver killer crosses, would be perfect with the front two Felipe and Smeltz.
  • Smeltz having a strike partner would mean he would have more space and could actualy have a few shots! did he have a shot against newcastle? i think thats why we lost!

Folks,

Please read the thread before posting.

Here are those NOT travelling...

Draper, Spoonley, Costa B, Lia, Brown, Clebo and Brownlie

Crossing to Felipe's height makes about as much sense as that tactical genius Wynton's plan of crossing to Aaran Silva and Batrim Suri.

Is he injured? Or maybe Ricki has been reading the fern and is going to give George a go.

No, Brownlie's not injured - this is from the A League website...

"Herbert said Brownlie's omission was 'not from a performance point of view' but more to explore new tactics with George hopefully making an impact from the bench."

Ricki said at training on Wednesday that he wouldn't travel - still getting over his flu I think....he'll hopefully be right for the Adelaide game next weekend.

Argh >< forum*

Was at school and had a brain fade. It is quite weird that it looks like he's going to give George a go after Brownlie impressed off the bench last week + after a few people on this forum had been saying to give him a chance.
