He provides Rudan with some options and creates competition within the squad. Is he better than WeeMac for instance? Yes, he is - particularly if Rudan can get him engaged. It would be an ok signing for mine. Williams, meh.
weeMac isn't a complete cod though.
Williams has never really been an out and out striker. More a winger who doesn't score much.

Last season we didn't really have a direct replacement for Kaludjerovic as a number 9, when his goals dried up for him, Plan B would have been to revert to playing our not-a-strikers. If he's supposed to be our back-up striker behind an import striker I don't think its a bad move at all. He would be the best striking option we would have had coming off the bench in at least the past few seasons (Probably better than no one, and Watto respectively?)
