If go below the All Blacks, Rugby is facing some serious issues. Their playing numbers are fading  especially in Auckland and Wellington. Take a look at the crowds for the NPC its spot the spectator. Most games are attended by hundreds rather than thousands.

Good point. The effect of players below AB leaving much earlier for Europe/Japan than they used against the cost of living these days and the increase in entertainment options online and live is kind of a perfect storm working against domestic rugby competitions (and indeed all domestic sport outside school level) in this country these days.
