Vidosic as assistant is a very smart move.
The Great 2016/17 Coaching Saga
Should be able to help sign some decent enough Australians.
Dario?
Confident about the duo. Would have big doubts about our season, but having Rado is a real coup. Would have been satisfied if he got the head coaching job himself.
Shout-out to the rugby posts in the background!
Given his history suggests that this is going to be a complete disaster, I'm not confident.
However I'll be watching closely to see what he does this offseason. Here's hoping he can make an impact with some signings.
If History is an indicator of the future, he won't make the start of the season let alone the end of it
Are they seriously suggesting Vladimir Petkovic??? I can't think of any other "Swiss/Bosnian" coach.
There's this chap: Darije Kalezic
Should be able to help sign some decent enough Australians.

Brown belt. I hope that shirt and trou are blue not black. Please someone tell me he was wearing brown shoes.
Have they announced how many years his contract is for?
Pretty happy with this, was the best type of coach we can get (If Ramon wasn't a possibility for whatever reason), but my big concern was lack of knowledge of the Australasian football scene. Vidosic is a great signing to counter this problem.
Ok, now to raise my hopes for the new season! COYN!!!
Kalezic's & Vidosic's Yellow Army is gonna be tough with a skinful.
"Kelezic's yellow army" works well.
Have they announced how many years his contract is for?
The could probably only offer 3 due to metics. Mind you if we win the league for the next 3 seasons, the FFA might consider extending our stay....might consider.
Couple of things to put his record into perspective: According to the Guardian in the UK, he is also adept at reorganising a club in chaos and planting seeds for a more successful future and you could say we are a bit in chaos. Seems he does have a habit of clashing with Management though which is how he lost one job. But two of the clubs he has been in charge of apparently been a mess when he got there like Stockholm and Al-Taawoun (Who have gone through 4 managers in the last year)

So he was on the short list when we hired Ernie, interesting.
His record in the Eredivisie is also pretty good. The only thing I read is he doesn't like recruiting and prefers to think of himself as a coach rather than a manager which is a big deal after a cleanout.
Still, he said in the press conference that he's here to win trophies so that should silence a few people on here that hate the fact that the team aren't vocal about their aspirations to win the competition.
Ryan, let's hope the Welnix owners see it his way too. Having lost most of our starting 11 we need to quickly replace them so that the squad has time to gel and figure each other out. Or we will be pissing into the wind yet again. I wish our new duo well and can't wait for the season to start.
He's from Sweden (so I've been told anyway)
Either, like many people, you can't tell Sweden from Switzerland, or you're not a reliable source for goss.

Doesn't sound like we're in any rush. Darje said in the press conference that they first need to assess where they are and then make careful selections because the club doesn't have enough money to make mistakes. He also said he isn't worried about attracting the right players.
Also, we've lost a lot of players but we also had a badly balanced squad, WeeMac is showing with the AWs that he should have been a starting player for the nix, probably at the expense of Roly.

Not a mention on the midday news on TV1, great PR from the club :(
Ryan, I copied this from my other post elsewhere. I can help the new coaches with this...... "Currently we are looking for: a Goalkeeper, a Right Back, a Left Back, a Center Back, a Defensive Midfielder X 2, a Winger, Strikers X 2 - preferably over 5'6" in height."

So the Club decides what's shown on TV1 News now?
No but did the club have anyone there at the announcement from the media or was this just a facebook release? I am sure the article on the news about the Arsenal fan getting hold of Team NZ's Carbon Fibre really warrented it's place.
TVNZ are a bunch of "owner operators"when it comes to the Nix

That's your wishlist not neccersarily the clubs.
Not so much my wish list but what the squad needs.

Either, like many people, you can't tell Sweden from Switzerland, or you're not a reliable source for goss.
Being from Denmark, I can definitely tell the difference between Sweden and Switzerland. The question is if my source can...
My source also claims that they've appointed this guy (look at his shocking record), as they want out. They're losing money.
My source is probably full of things you find in babies nappies, but that's what he said.
That is full of it, if they wanted out they would pull the plug. The team will be something like an LLP and none of the owners would have any personal liability, if for some reason they don't know how to structure a company (which of course we know they do) then they would just spend the cap minimum and just keep Greenacre or Buckingham.
Rado and Kelizic are not going to be cheap options.
Not so much my wish list but what the squad needs.
Why do we need a left back, a centre back, and two more strikers?
what we actually need is new midfield and a full back worth a damn.
Sign Tuiloma. Sign a top class mid to replace ARod and Roly. Possibly sign a foreign fullback. Look for a Kosta replacement (this will be tough unless we somehow get Burns)
If we got Tuiloma I think the best use of the two import spots would be a right back and a winger or striker.
Durante is losing his speed and Fox maybe a replacement in waiting but cover is needed. LB sees Doyle alone, if he is injured......RB, Fox could play there too I guess. Strikers - Krishna and Watson. One gets injured? Rogerson might be up and coming but a proven and experienced striker is what the team needs and preferably of decent height/build. Watson is a solid boy and despite his detractors, I always felt it is his work off the ball and attracting defences, freeing up space, that is one of his better attributes. Smeltz did the same last season. He might not have scored much but he made so much space for other players.
We have Lowry as cover at CB (probably ahead of Fox in the pecking order), Parkhouse and McGarry as cover at LB, and four strikers (five if you include Rogerson) is excessive in a 23 man squad, particularly if we are probably going to play 433.
I have a feeling that the new coach will do okay.
Most of his adult life has been spent playing and coaching in Holland in the top two leagues since age 24 (last 23 years).
Kalezic is really a Bosnian Dutchman - he has little Swiss connection other than being born there (his parents moved to Bosnia when he was very young and weren't Swiss citizens).
A Dutch influence on our football will be a good thing.
Most of the last four years Kalezic has spent coaching Roda JC in the Dutch top flight and PSV's reserve team - and PSV are a major European club.
And appointing Rado Vidošić as assistant is a great move - both are fluent in Croatian (Kalezic says so in an interview while at Roda) and share a similar cultural and footballing background in the former Yugoslavia (it was still Yugoslavia when both were growing up there, Rado in Croatia, Darije in Bosnia).
Also, both coaches will have strong connections to bring quality players in from Europe and Australia.
Rado's son Dario has dropped down to the Korean second division, so there must be some chance of prising him back to the A-League. His club Seongnam have been through four managers in the last nine months. The current Korean second division season finishes on October 28 and Seongnam are struggling in their first season after relegation, lying seventh of ten teams after fifteen rounds. Only the champions gain direct promotion.

TVNZ and TV3 were both at the press conference, as were written and radio press you'd expect. But it didn't finish until about 11.45, which wouldn't have been enough time to get an article in the press
Given his history suggests that this is going to be a complete disaster, I'm not confident.
Its sound like he doesn't suffer fools gladly, but that could be a good thing.
I'm not going to comment on whether appointing him was the best choice, but I see no reason why we and he shouldn't do well.
Im far more interested in watching a progressive side that try and play some decent football , than I am about results.
I hope to see Singh get involved and hope to see some positive signings that aint gonna knock the ball across the back four all day
