Didn't you use to commentate on Sky UK?

It's not possible for girls to love hair, makeup, shoes and football.

Best get over to kickette and tell them "they don't know what they're doing"

OK - not really wanting to inflame this stoopid even more, but just a couple more points:

1. The BBC reported during the Sian Massey debacle that about 1 in 5 EPL football fans are female. Would imagine the proportion at Nix games is at least that much judging by the people around us. So AJ13 maybe you are erroneously and possibly even arrogantly extrapolating from your own demographic and circle of acquaintances to make what is quite an incorrect and derogatory conclusion.

2. Not every one in the FZ I'd imagine are 25 yo males, quite possibly you are offending other fans who are not 25 yo women.

I don't think anyone will question your commitment to the Nix, but just because your women friends don't follow the game as closely as you, don't use that to alienate the ones that do. Everyone has their own way of supporting the club - I saw a nice post on the Nix facebook by the club stating it's inclusiveness philosophy. Worth another read.

awww come on dude i admitted i was generalising and that im not taking anything away from any other supporter, be them male/female. i will confirm this once more:

I, personally (as in me, myself - AJ) have yet to have met a female of similar age, who shows enough of an interest in not just football, but sport in general, to head along with me and my drunk, foul mouthed mates to watch a live game at ROF.

Or maybe i just need to ditch 19yr old blonde bimbos who only care about how good they look?

... nah.

I will be flying over from Perth to see this game due to the sudden death of my Dad on Saturday.
It will be hard because he was a supporter of the Phoenix. Though he would only watch the games on TV.
We would have great debates on Skype after each game, I will miss that.
R.I.P. Dad love and miss you heaps.

If this is their last game, perhaps their should be some "As good as the Knights" banner. Didn't the Knights only last 2 seasons too? (not counting the NSL)goldienz2011-02-07 08:56:56

As they chase a Hyundai A-league finals spot the Wellington Phoenix are selling two-for-one tickets as an incentive for fans to be at the final home game of the season against North Queensland Fury on Sunday February 13.

Fans buying a ticket from the Phoenix Store in Hunter Street or a Ticketek outlet will get another of the same value free.

The Wellington Phoenix want to encourage fans to get to the February 13 game which is likely to be the last game at Westpac Stadium this season.

Our fans have been terrific for us this season and are of course one reason why we play so well at home, said Wellington Phoenix CEO Nathan Greenham.

We want to use the game versus Fury at Westpac Stadium to say thank you to those fans and to encourage as many of them to come down and support our last game this season

We are also having a celebration for the Phoenixs 500,000th supporter to come to a home A-League game, so one of those people buying a two-for-one may be that fan as well.

The 500,000th fan will win a prize pack including a season 2011-12 season membership; one night for two people in Wellingtons Century City Hotel on game night; an invitation to the after-match function; a pre-match behind-the-scenes tour of the changing rooms and ground; ticket upgrade for two people to the Chairmans Lounge at Westpac Stadium; two pairs of Sony headphones and a signed match ball.

Phoenix chief executive Nathan Greenham said the club recognizes how important its supporters have been over the past four seasons and the prize draw was a way of acknowledging them.

The fans have become a major part of the Phoenix experience and we wanted to say thank you, Greenham said.

To have had over 500,000 people at our games is special and one lucky fan will be the recipient of what is a fantastic prize pack.

The top six teams qualify for the finals and the Phoenix are currently in sixth spot. With qualification almost assured for the finals series, the final game of the regular season against the Fury on Sunday will be an opportunity to celebrate.

We really wanna try pack out the stadium for this one surely.

I know its not likely, but we are in the playoffs for sure if we win this one, so market it as a quarterfinal.
we're not going to get another home game unless we can steal 5th and both us and Tards wins or games, so lets get people there in numbers!!

I'm hoping this season won't be the last for the nix'.
When is the trial thing for Terry's taxes? I cbf looking it up. :D

The normally well-informed Michael Brown at the Herald reckons Terry's close to getting the money thing sorted out.

sorry if this has been said already.
It's a great idea the whole 2for1 thing. however, you know what would sell out the RoF?
The 2for1 on bought tickets AND allowing season pass members to get 1xfree ticket with their pass. This way we season members would definitely bring an extra friend and all those who decide to buy a ticket for the NQF game would bring a mate as well.

Bad idea?

I apologise.

Serious question though - would you be happy to sit in amoung 4-5 early to mid 20 year olds listening to "f**k this" and "c**t that" all night, and just general inside chat about whatever that you wouldnt understand anyway?

I have been told by other spectators at the stadium (not just at the Nix) that my language is disgusting and utter filth.

I don't give a f#cking c#nt what kind of language people use, though I get a bit annoyed at racist/sexist/homophobic banter. I've only been in the YF zone once (and the White Noise zone twice), and had an excellent time without exception. I've also had a good time with Nix fans up at Fox's in Auckland. The only issue is that certain mid-20 year old male fans seemed not quite sure how to deal with me. :)

I should note that I play footy myself, though, so perhaps I'm not the kind of "female" you're used to.

Actually - last game in Aisle 24 we heard a father being Mr potty-mouth in front of his kids.  Hugely cringeworthy and everyone was looking at him and feeling embarrassed for the kids.

We moved to be with some friends in Aisle 21 next to the FZ.  Surprised at how little colourful language was uttered.

I don't think the language is that bad in the FZ. There is the occasional "f**k that", usually aimed at the ref, but it isn't that pervasive. I guess "s**t" pops up reasonably often but you can hear that where ever you sit courtesy of the chanting. I don't recall ever hearing "c**t" in the FZ.

Junior, ever dated a footballer chick? We're all extremely hot and not all of us are lesbians. (At least in the Auckland leagues. I'm reliably informed that if you're not a lesbian and you join a women's football team in Wellington, you will be by the end of the season.)

Sadly Mrs Junior won't let me.

However I might see if Feverish has a spot for Assistant Coach going (I will even invest in a DoM mac).
