not at all- but I guess I am speaking more from a hopeful perspective, and a logical perspective I guess.

But we all know he may not be the goods

Spell all their names incorrectly so it becomes a collector's item.

Should be real interesting how many people turn up for this game.....for better or worse, the Nix have had lots of publicity during the long off season. Lots of people have spent lots of money going to watch the egg ball cup....Then again lots of people are hanging out to see football again. Sure hope its a decent crowd. It will be a great message for the new owners to see a decent size crowd.
Durante made a good point about recruiting.....he said " sure lots of teams have done lots of recruiting but it often takes a while with tough games before you get a lot of new players playing as a team....the Nix first 11 is a well settled side who have been playing together for quite a while"
The Jets could be unsettled after the Culina sackings....if we can get Ifill and Sanchez fit, we could win this game. COYN

Are they going to have the party zone for the AB's game Sunday night? With extra people in town for that, hopefully a few tag along to the football before it.

I understand that there will be no big marketing effort promoting this game because of the RWC, and that there will be one for the second home game against the Viktree.

I agree with this, even more so after lil'browns goal against us. Will need to get in his face and irritate him, a bit of shirt pulling if needed

That's freakin-fantastic.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

Going to be in Wellington for a sports tournament...Keen to go to my first real home game! How long does it take to get from Naenae to the stadium?

Depends on your mode of transport of course...30-40mins door to door if you include parking and walk up.

I'll most likely catch a train. Have to think whether I want to go by myself though.
Go by yourself, buy a ticket in the Fever Zone and it won't matter that you're there by yourself. Serious answer, don't let being alone put you off.

Wouldn't she be better at home by the telephone? The stadium can get pretty cold.

We're in Avalon, if you need help...

Takes us about 15 mins drive, and 15 walk from our park...

First home game, yay!

Who's the reserve GK if Paston is out? Reckon we could sign Gouldie on an emergency loan from Perth?

Id imagine they'd get someone in from ASB Prem, similar to what happened last season with Lovemore and Clapham against Said-Knee-Eff-See

Doesnt help that it's on the same night as the All Blacks semifinal.

we will get over 5k id say.
Hopefully closer to 8.

Would have thought the new super owners would have gone straight into the marketing of the club, but i guess its taking them time to sort all the other behind the scenes variables first.
And maybe they want a winning team to market?

Lion and the Backbencher have come to the party HARD and we'll be throwing ridiculously cheap drinks at you at the Bencher from MIDDAY on Sunday.

More details (and special thread) to come soon, but get a pass out from the missus (Evald).

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Better not be any rowing regatta with Mahe Dysdale on at the same time.  I'll be gutted.

Any chance the good people at the four kings could delay playing the kiwis game an hour till 7 so that us phoenix folk can get down there and not miss any of the game. Know it's unlikely, but thought I may as well ask.
EDIT: Kiwis game, not the phoenix game. sissoko_no1fan2011-10-11 19:39:26

Mahe is such a massive football fan he would refuse to row when there's a game on.

Will whatever Terry tribute is planned for Sunday be repeated at the Victory game? (when it sounds like there will be more people there).

Just as an aside. Received an email a couple of Sundays ago sent around lunchtime asking for volunteers for the kids parade for the opening match.

4.5 hours later there was another email to say that all the spaces had been filled.
