This isnt the premier league.

2 problems:
a) we cant sell on to other A league clubs.
b) we have no bargaining power with other leagues, very rarely does it happen that an A league club makes a massive profit from selling on youngsters. There arent enough of them for starters.

Theyd also probably rather wait until their contract is up rather than pay any sort of transfer fee, unless you are talking a so-called real talent. Which Musa and Muscat do no fit into.

There isnt really a transfer market in the A league,so your angst is a bit odd.

The main benefit for youth players is because you have to have a certain amount of U21 players in your squad,so obviously if your U21 players are very good,it raises the level of the squad significantly. Once they turn 21 they really do have to prove that theyd be of more benefit than a handy U21 player - this is where a lot of players fall short.

You forget that their is a salary cap and a limit to squad size me thinks.
