What stand down period? There is not such thing. Lia has been here for 4 years. 1 more and he will have a passport. Of course that will be a factor in Ricki resigning them. As for the previous comment about a league players not playing in Europe, look closely at the recent ausi squad and count them up. If it was a choice between Lia and Christie for the all whites, who would you want in your team?

Someone should read up on their immigration law.

If an Australian wants to move here they can.  Because of an agreement between Aus and NZ, an Australia citizen is granted a residence permit upon arrival. However to get permanent residency they have to meant certain requirements and be here for 2 years.

Once they have got permanent residency, then to become a citizen (and thus meant FIFA requirements)  they have to be a permanent resident for 5 years.

Thus 7 year total.

Conspiracy theory fail.
