I can see Hearfield going back to aussie, dunno where tho. If we signed a right back, he would be a bench/squad player at best and the chance to play games in the ASB challenge wont be enough to keep him here.
If Ward is on a one season contract, I hope we sign him up for another season. He does provide us options in midfield, and gives us something we dont have with the other mids we have signed up already.
I would be fine with Crowther staying as the back up keeper, but not sure he would want too stay. Last season we signed Reddy instead of playing him, and Vukovic this season, that has to be like a slap in the face to him.
After the Boca game, I thought we had something with Macallistar. His partnership with Greenacre looked promising. With Ifill hurt, it gives Macallistar a chance to prove his worth for a contract for next year. At the moment, I wouldnt be fussed either way if we signed him or not.
A right back (who can cover centre if needed), and a couple attacking mids would be top of my list for next season. Maybe we should use the Guest slot for this year to trial someone in these positions, much like Adelaide & Gold Coast are doing.
